Black Vine Weevils are one of the most serious insect pests of ornamental plants and strawberries. Adult weevils feed at night, producing telltale notches around the edges of the leaves and flowers. However, the devastating crop losses are caused by the voracious root feeding larvae.

Nemasys L provides rapid control of vine weevil larvae and is active at low temperatures (down to 5C) when the pest is most active.

Applications of Nemasys L releases large numbers of naturally occuring nematodes into the soil in their vigorously infective stage, they actively seek out the vine weevil larvae and release symbiotic bacteria once inside the pest, quickly killing it. The nematodes then reproduce inside the insect and release a new generation of infective juveniles, which disperse in search of further prey. Once the pest population is controlled, the nematodes die back down to normal levels

Nemasys L is a new low temperature formulation. Based on a unique strain of the insect pathogenic nematode Steinernema kraussei.
